We recently visited Aberdeenshire farmer Nicola Wordie who has spoken to us about the immense challenges she has faced over the last 15 months since losing her mother Margo, and the ways she has coped with the loss.
Nicola, aged 26, who, together with her family, farms around 1,400 acres near Huntly, says the support from family, friends and her social media following has helped her through her toughest year. She believes being honest about the difficulties has not only helped her, but also made it easier for others to open up.
Nicola hopes that by sharing the small steps she has taken to look after her wellbeing it might encourage other farmers and crofters across Scotland to do the same.
Watch Nicola’s inspiring video to find out more about her family farm and the admirable efforts she has put into looking after herself.
