A glorious day in Bute was had for our first farm walk and talk at Scalpsie Farm on June 12th.
Gathering at the Kingarth Hotel for lunch and a chat on Farmstrong, Ian Dickson then lead the group on a tour of the farm, talking us through his enterprises, the good, the challenging as well as the changes afoot.
Following an amazing afternoon tea, with Farmstrong Cupcakes, Michael Blanche introduced the audience to his concepts of time, and the 5 P’s. He noted the phrase “plant time to be able to harvest time” which resonates with our own line of “make time for wellbeing so you don’t have to take time for illness”.
Further to the event, some of the attendees took a stroll on Scalpsie Bay, where Farmstrong Programme Director Alix and Farmer Ian both boosted their wellbeing even more, by being active and taking the plunge by swimming in sea!
Thanks must go to Ian, Lisa, John, Catrina & Marcus at the farm, Michael for speaking and all those who came along to our event. We are grateful to The NFU Mutual Charitable Trust for their support.
